Cyprus Visa Application  Requirements

Here’s a brief summary of the Cyprus visa application requirements for Student Visas vs Visitor / Tourist Visas (non‑EU citizens in most cases). Always check your local Cyprus embassy or university for specific details.

Student Visa (for non‑EU students)

You generally need to provide:

  • Valid passport (often valid for at least 1‑2 years) before the course start date.

  • Letter of acceptance from a recognised educational institution.

  • Certified copies of previous academic records & transcripts.

  • Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statements, sponsor, etc.) to cover tuition + living expenses.

  • Police clearance / certificate of good conduct (recent, e.g. issued within last 6 months) from home country.

  • Medical tests / health clearance (e.g. for certain diseases, sometimes chest X‑ray / blood tests) depending on institution.

  • Proof of accommodation in Cyprus.

  • English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL etc.), if required.

  • Visa application form & applicable fees.

  • After arrival: obtain a temporary residence permit.

Visitor / Tourist Visa (Short‑Stay)

You typically need:

  • Valid passport (often valid at least 3‑6 months beyond intended stay).

  • Completed visa application form.

  • Passport‑sized photos (recent).

  • Travel itinerary / round‑trip flight bookings or proof of onward travel.

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or similar).

  • Proof of sufficient funds to support the stay.

  • Visa fee.

  • Apply well in advance — in many cases up to 3 months before travel.

  • Processing time is usually ~15 days but can take longer.
