Italy Visa Application Requirements

 

Here are the important Italy visa application requirements for applicants applying under the Schengen Visa category:

🎓 1. Student Visa (Long-Stay Type D Visa)

Purpose: Study at a Italy university or institution

Key Requirements:

  • Valid passport (valid 12+ months after arrival)

  • Completed Long-Stay Visa Application Form

  • Recent passport-size photo

  • Letter of acceptance from Italy institution

  • Proof of financial means (bank statements, scholarship, or sponsorship)

  • Proof of accommodation in Italy

  • Medical certificate from approved doctor

  • Police clearance certificate (from your country)

  • Visa fee payment receipt

💼 2. Business Visa (Short-Stay Schengen Visa – Type C)

Purpose: Short visits for business meetings, trade fairs, conferences

Key Requirements:

  • Valid passport (valid 3+ months after intended departure)

  • Completed Schengen Visa Application Form

  • Passport-size photo (biometric)

  • Invitation letter from Italy company

  • Business documents (agenda, proof of previous dealings, etc.)

  • Travel insurance 

  • Proof of accommodation & flight bookings

  • Proof of financial means (bank statements, employer letter)

✈️ 3. Visitor / Tourist Visa (Short-Stay Schengen Visa – Type C)

Purpose: Tourism, vacation, visiting family/friends (up to 90 days)

Key Requirements:

  • Valid passport

  • Completed Schengen Visa Application Form

  • Recent passport-size photo

  • Travel itinerary (hotel booking, round-trip flight)

  • Invitation letter (if visiting someone)

  • Proof of sufficient funds

  • Travel medical insurance

🏥 4. Medical Visa (B-2 – Medical Treatment)

Purpose: Travel for medical treatment

Key Requirements:

* Valid passport

* DS-160 form + visa fee receipt

* Doctor’s letter (from home country, explaining the condition)

* Italy doctor/hospital letter confirming acceptance and treatment plan

* Proof of ability to pay for treatment and expenses

* Embassy interview
