Spain Visa Application Requirements

 

Here are the important Spain Schengen Visa application requirements for the following visa types: Student, Business, Visitor/Tourist, and Medical.

✅ General Requirements for All Spain Schengen Visa Types

Applicants must submit the following basic documents, regardless of visa type:

1. Completed Visa Application Form – Filled and signed.

2. Valid Passport

   • Issued in the last 10 years.

   • At least 2 blank pages.

   • Valid for at least 3 months after planned departure from the Schengen area.

3. Recent Passport-size Photo – Taken within the last 6 months; white background.

4. Travel Itinerary

   • Round-trip flight reservation or booking.

   • Travel dates and route.

5. Proof of Accommodation

   • Hotel booking, rental agreement, or invitation letter from a host.

6. Travel Medical Insurance

   • Coverage of at least €30,000.

   • Valid throughout Schengen area and entire stay.

7. Proof of Financial Means

   • Recent bank statements (last 3 months), salary slips, or sponsorship letter.

   • Spain requires at least €100 per day of stay (2024 guideline).

8. Visa Fee Payment

   • Standard fee: €80 for adults, €40 for children aged 6–12; free for under 6s and some categories.

 

🎓 Student Visa (Short-Term – Less than 90 Days)

Additional documents:

• Acceptance Letter from a recognized Spanish educational institution.

• Proof of Payment for the course or enrollment.

• No-Objection Letter from your current school/university (if applicable).

• Proof of Accommodation (student housing, dormitory, etc.).

• Proof of Sufficient Funds to support yourself during studies.

 

💼 Business Visa

Additional documents:

• Invitation Letter from the Spanish company, stating:

  • Applicant’s details

  • Purpose and duration of visit

  • Who is covering expenses

• Letter from Employer in home country confirming:

  • Applicant's employment

  • Purpose of trip

  • Permission to travel

• Business Documents (if applicable): Company registration, trade license, etc.

 

🧳 Visitor / Tourist Visa

Additional documents:

• Travel Plan or Tour Itinerary (optional but recommended).

• If visiting family/friends:

  • Invitation Letter (Carta de Invitación) from host in Spain, legalized by Spanish police.

  • Copy of Host’s ID or Residence Permit.

• Proof of Social Ties to home country (employment letter, family, school, etc.).

• Proof of Income or sponsor if someone else is covering costs.

 

🏥 Medical Visa

Additional documents:

• Official Medical Diagnosis from a doctor in the home country.

• Appointment Confirmation with a Spanish hospital or clinic.

• Treatment Plan and estimated cost from the Spanish medical provider.

• Proof of Payment or deposit for the treatment (if required).

• Proof of Funds to cover stay and medical costs.

• Medical Insurance covering the procedure (if applicable).n
